How to convert an image
Select the source files
Add JPG, PNG or WebP images. For WebP to JPG, keep the default JPG output.
Choose the output
Select JPG, PNG or WebP. Leave the size limit blank for conversion without a target cap, then prepare and download.
Which image format should I use?
| Format | Suitable for | Things to check |
|---|---|---|
| JPG | Photographs and forms that require JPEG. | Lossy output; transparent areas become white. |
| PNG | Transparent artwork and sharp-edged graphics. | Can be larger than JPG or WebP, especially for photos. |
| WebP | Web images where a modern format is accepted. | Some application forms accept only JPG or PNG. |
Convert WebP to JPG
Add your WebP file, select JPG and choose Prepare images. Leave dimensions empty to retain the original pixel size within the tool’s supported limits. Download the new .jpg file; changing the filename extension alone is not a format conversion.
Convert PNG to JPG without a black background
This tool fills transparent areas with white when exporting JPG. For a logo that needs to retain transparency, choose PNG or WebP instead. A JPG file cannot preserve a transparent background.
Converting JPG to PNG does not restore lost quality
PNG stores the exported pixels in a lossless format, but converting an existing JPG cannot undo its earlier compression. Use the best source file you have. WebP and JPG exports here use lossy encoding, so compare the downloaded image with your original.
Batch conversion and upload limits
Select up to 20 images and choose one output format for the batch. Add exact dimensions with the resize controls, or use the 100KB compression tool when file size is your main requirement. The ZIP download includes ready results; files with errors need a separate correction.
Questions about this tool
Can I convert HEIC, PDF or SVG files?
No. This tool accepts JPG, PNG and WebP image files. It does not support HEIC photos, PDF documents or SVG graphics.
Does conversion preserve animation?
No. The output is a single still image. Use another workflow if you need to retain animated frames.
Does conversion preserve camera metadata?
No. Exports do not preserve source photo metadata such as camera information or location. Keep your original if you need it for archival use.
Are my images sent to a server?
The image tool processes the selected files locally in your browser. You do not need an account. Advertising and hosting requests are separate from image processing; see our privacy notice for those services.
